Task 10

The story of Bajau

When a person visits Kampong Solibog in Tambunan, he or she will hear about a man called Bajau. The say that Bajau was a very tall and powerful man who helped the villagers. His wife was called Pangkung and she too was tall as Bajau. No one really can tell how tall Bajau was or even how strong he was. From his achievements it can be said that Bajau must have been an unusually tall man indeed.

There is a stone in Kampung Solibog. It is about 2.5 metres high and 0.6 metres wide. Its was said that Bajau once carried this huge stone under his arm. The stone is called Batu Bajau. From here, it seems that Bajau was a very strong man indeed.

Bajau’s feet were so wide that when he walked in the river, the fish would die. They would have been trodden by him. The people would follow Bajau and collect the fish. One can imagine how easy it must have been for the people. Sometimes the people would say Bajau, “Could you please lie down in the Pegalan River? We need some fish” Bajau would lie down in the river and the fish would be washed to the banks of the river. The people would then collect the fish.

Everyone loved Bajau very much. He was not only tall and strong, he was humble and friendly. He would often visit the people and ask them, do you need any help? If so please let me know.”
The next day when the people went to the forest, they were shocked. They saw that the forest had already been cleared and was ready for planting. They knew that Bajau had uprooted all the trees and cleared the place. They were grateful.

One day, Bajau went away. He went to see a friend who was living far awere killed.ay. During this time, a tiger came into the village and disturbed the people. The tiger was wounded and was looking for an easy way to find food to eat.

The chief became anxious and sent  a messenger to Bajau. “There is a tiger attacking us and we are in great danger.” As soon as Bajau heard this, he rushed back to the village. He caught the tiger and threw it across the hills. The tiger was never seen again
The village became peaceful and happy with the presence of Bajau. It was also prosperous as the neighboring villages had heard about Bajau and kept away from the place. There were no wild animals and everything was wonderful.

Across the hills, there lived a tribe called Tasapang. These people were also prosperous. The attacked the neighboring villages and took everything away. Every day, the chief would send his followers to find out about villages which were rich and prosperous. They would then attack these places without any warning.

A messenger came and told the chief. “There is a kampung across the hills called Kampong Salibog. It is a prosperous community.”

The chief replied, “We should attack the place. Prepare for it. We will leave tomorrow.”

The following day, the chief took his best warriors and left for Kampung Salibog. He sent one of his spies ahead. “Go and check the place. See how they defend their place and report back.”
The man went ahead. He pretended to be friendly with the villagers of Kampung Salibog. He came to know about Bajau and his great strength. He rushed back to his chief and said, “There is the story of the great man. He is said to be very tall and has the power of a hundred men.”

Task 8
I have watched A Thousand Word by Brian Robbins.  The story about Jack McCall  is a literary agent. While he is trying to get a book deal from a New Age self-help guru named Dr. Sinja  the guru agrees to the deal, only to later deliver a five-page book. That night, a tree magically appears in Jack’s backyard, with a thousand leaves. Dr. Sinja goes to Jack's house and they both discover that for every word that Jack says, a leaf will fall off of the tree. When the tree runs out of leaves, the tree will die, along with Jack. In time, he finds that even written words count towards his limit, plus anything that happens to the tree will also affect Jack. When Jack tries to cut it down with an axe, an axe wound appears on him. When squirrels climb the tree, it tickles him. When a gardener tries to poison the tree, Jack gets high on the fumes. With Jack forced to pick and choose his words, communicating with others becomes difficult and full of misunderstandings. These misunderstandings cause him lost in, his job, and his wife Caroline. She walks out on him when she thinks his sudden silence is due to him not loving her anymore. When he tries to explain the tree to her, she doesn’t believe him. Only Jack’s assistant Aaron realizes that he is telling the truth, and goes to Jack’s house to keep track of how many leaves remain. With his life falling apart and the tree running out of leaves, Jack meets Dr. Sinja and asks how to end the curse. The guru tells him to make peace in all of his relationships. With just one branch of leaves left, Jack tries to reconcile with Caroline, but she remains hesitant. He visits his mother, who lives in folk house. She tells Jack, who she thinks is Jack’s late father Raymond, that she wishes Jack would stop being angry at his father for walking out on them when he was a kid. Jack, realizing that this is the relationship that needs , he goes to visit his father’s grave. Jack expends the last three leaves of the tree with the words, "I forgive you". With no leaves remaining, Jack suffers a heart attack and appears to have died. Jack’s cellphone rings, and it is Aaron. Jack, who is still alive, answers his phone. Aaron tells him that the tree’s leaves have magically reappeared and Jack can now talk freely again.Jack and Caroline get back together, with Jack buying the family-friendly house Caroline asked for earlier, and the tree is in their front yard. He doesn’t get his job back.
From this story if I were the character of Jack, I will try to solve all my problems first with my wife and family problems with job problems ahead. Even if the situations make limited movement to me, I will stay calmly to overcome the problem without having difficulties on the word that I’ve said. Every words are valuable so all words that I said will be the best to other. This movie were so good and give us many moral values such as every word that came out from our mouth are worthy, so be rationale when saying even a single worth.Thank you.

Task 7

Paragraph writing
Q.3: my unforgettable childhood memory

I know each of us have their own experience and memories. From the joy, happiness, sadness, frightening and so on.. I have 4 siblings, one older sister and two older brothers. I am the youngest one.
Memories that I can recall back in my mind start from when I was 5 years old. There was a time that both my parents went to work and my sister and brothers went to school. My parents sent me to my nanny house before they go to work. I remembered that my nanny gave me something to eat in a bowl. Its look like “bubur kacang” but all I can see are the cockroach legs, giant black ant and other kind of insect. It look very unpleasant to me of course. Yes I am 5 years old that time but did she expect me that I will not now anything yet?. So I just played with the food without any single sip. Until now I still wondering why she gave me that kind of disgusting food. On the other day, my mom took me to my new nanny. She looks so warm-hearted person. She took care of me very well. Then there a time when I played alone at the living room, my nanny suddenly grab my hand and ran to the outside. The neighbor house nearby caught on fire. I can feel the heat came to me. I just follow my nanny running out her house. The fire fighter came and successfully defeats the fire. But the neighbor house cannot be saved but thankfully the neighbor got out without any injury.
Then when I was 6 years old, I went to St Mary kindergarten school. I got 2 best friends, Aaron and Marcella. Our teacher always gave us more star for our homework. We always compete each other to who get more star in our homework. Most our time were playing in the park, drawing, singing and dancing. On examination me and my best friend got on top 3 ranking. 1st place was Aaron, 2nd me and 3rd is Marcella.
When I was 7 years old. I went to Sk Bandar. I tell you that is the worst school on that time. Poor cleanliness in the school. No water in the toilet and also no electric. One day, when I played with my friend, I accidently fell to drainage. I got wounds on my elbow and swell on my forehead. Mom came to get me after that incident. Than next day she exchange me to other school to Sk St Mary. There I got many friendly friends. On that time I always on top 5 ranking in exam.
Start when I was in primary 4 and primary 5. I followed the “bintang kecil” competition in school. I sang “jambatan tamparuli”. My Indian teacher Mdm Rajaswari .She were very excited and amazed to hear the kadazandusun song. I got second place on that time. Next following year I joined again on the competition on behalf of Mdm Rajaswari. I sang “proton saga kelabu” at that time and I got second place again. That was very exciting moment I have. But on other year afterwards, I stop joined on the competition because my competitor that got 1st place in the competition who also my friend name Barry passed away because of dengue fever. The last song he sang I remembered is from Alleycats.
When I was 12 years old in primary 6, the most memorable event are when I joined Nasyid and storytelling about Nabi Muhammad. I was the only one non-muslim student that followed the event. Uztaz Shukri is the one who bring me to joining the event. It was most memorable for me of course and make me to more respect to other religious.
In 2005, I entered secondary school. I went to SM St Mary. Or course new environment, new friend, new teacher. The one that I can’t forget when I got 3rd place in exam. I’m so happy because I can make my parents proud. For my accomplishment, my dad bought me my first hand phone. I’m the first one that have hand phone before my other sibling.
When it came to 2006, it was the worst year of my life I guess. We got family conflict at that time. My two older brothers fought because of unknown reason. From that, my 1st older brother kicked out from house. So he when to my uncle house nearby. After that time, I will always been blame in the house for all that my 2nd older brother did. Because of frustrating about that, I’ve tries to commit suicide. I cut my wrist on the vein using kitchen knife but all I can see my red flesh but no blood came out but it felt hurt so bad. Then I tried to swollen rat poison on that night but I wake up in the morning still alive. Maybe God don’t what me to go. So I decided to stop trying to suicide. I just add sin to my life trying to suicide. But I ran out from house to join my brother afterwards. From that time, my mom not giving me any pocket money to school. I have no money at all when I go to school. It the time of hardness that I felt.
Soon my mom sms me that if I want to be given pocket money, I need to come back home. So considering on my mom proposal, I decided to came back home. My mom accept my older brother to home when I was 16 years old. From the entire time I kept blaming my parents because abandon my brother. But our parents will always be our parents, nothing going to change that. My ways of thinking that time wasn’t matured yet. Nowadays I know to think maturely. I still love my parents and always be forever. Thank you very much.
